The urban population of the year 2020 is 4,378,993,944.
COUNTRIES HAVING THE HIGHEST POPULATION:
|COUNTRY||POPULATION IN 2020|
|United States||331 million|
EFFECTS OF POPULATION EXPLOSION:
Population explosion is a serious issue. It has many negative effects on the economy. Some of them are given below:
- Effects on food problems
- Low standard of living
- Social problem
- Effect on per capita income
- Problem of capital formation
- Impact on maternity welfare
- Pressure on environment
- Burden of unproductive consumers
EFFECTS ON FOOD PROBLEMS:
The main problem is food. There are two main food related problems. First people do not get sufficient food supply. And another one is that people have low productivity of the food.
The biggest problem of population explosion is unemployment. As the population is increasing, unemployment is also reaching great heights. This is a fact that a large sized population results in a large army of laborers, but the issue is that the resources are limited. The unemployment comes in between the development of the country.
LOW STANDARD OF LIVING:
The rapid growth of population leads to low standard of living. As the people increase rapidly, then the living standard gets low.
Population explosion leads to poverty. Poverty is a serious issue in every country. Due to poverty people do not get sufficient food and shelter and face many problems.
As the population explosion leads to unemployment and poverty. Poverty and unemployment leads to anger and other social problems.
EFFECT ON PER CAPITA INCOME:
Large size of population and rapid growth of population leads to low availability of per capita income.
As the population rises the per capita income decreases.
PROBLEMS OF CAPITAL FORMATION:
High birth rate and low expectancy of life means a large number of dependents in the total population. Most of the people in India depend upon others for subsistence. These people are unproductive people. the capacity of the people is reduced by the burden of dependents. Therefore the rate of capital formation reduces.
IMPACT ON MATERNITY WELFARE:
The high birth rate is the reason for population explosion. The pregnancy without sufficient gap is hazardous to the health of the mother. This leads to a high death rate among women in the reproductive age due to early marriage. This is not good for maternity welfare, and to improve the welfare and status of women in our society, we have to reduce the birth rate.
PRESSURE ON ENVIRONMENT:
High birth rate is also not good for our environment. As the population is rising, the pollution and other human activities are also rising. More toxic wastes are produced. To control the population is very essential for the environment.
BURDEN OF UNPRODUCTIVE CONSUMERS:
The dependency adversely affects effective saving. In India, amny childrens and old age people are dependent on others. This is very important to take steps for population control.
WAYS TO CONTROL POPULATION:
This is very important for everyone to know about the problems of population explosion and try to do something for controlling the population. There are many ways to control the population. Here we have some for you:
- The first way is the use of contraceptives. The contraceptives are very helpful in preventing unwanted pregnancy. Contraceptives not only help in preventing unwanted pregnancy and birth, it is also helpful in preventing the spread of sexually transmitted diseases like AIDS among people.
- Education forms the backbone of an individual and economy. Educating people about the problems and issues of population and benefits of controlling it will help a lot. As many people get this is knowledge they teach others about it and the problem will decrease a bit.
- Women empowerment is another way to prevent population explosion. As the women will get equivalent to the mens in terms of force and might. This is believed that people keep giving birth to childrens in desire of a boy rather than girls.
- Delayed marriage is another way to control the population. If the people will marry at the right age then it will affect the society and help in controlling the population. Child marriage should be stopped completely.
This is very important for everyone to think about the country, the environment and the world. So this is a very important duty of all of us to control the population and make everyone aware about this.
So this is all for today. We will meet soon with much more content and articles for you. Till then make people aware about population control measures.
Happy World Population Day.
