National Daughters Day
“Daughters are angels sent from above to fill our heart with unending love.”
This day is celebrated on 11th August. Every parent loves their children and wants their children to achieve great success in their lives. This day gives an opportunity to children and parents to spend quality time together.
Every parent has a very different and special relation with their daughters and this day is celebrated to show that daughters are gifts from god.
This day was celebrated with the aim to increase the population of girl children because many people don’t want girl children because they think girls are a burden to them and for society. So, this day is celebrated to erase this mentality.
CHALLENGES FACED BY GIRLS
As it says that girls like it are not so easy. Girls have to face many problems in their life.
- Financial inequality.
- Deficiency of Educational Opportunities
- Insufficient Sanitation Facilities.
- Deficiency of Land and Safe Shelter.
- Poor medical care
- Less knowledge of health informations
- Lack of Employment
- Gender-based Violence
- Child marriage
- Lack of opportunities in sports
Girls are stopped to use financial tools and appliances. A survey says that Thirty-seven percent of women worldwide have a bank account compared to men.
DEFICIENCY OF EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES:
Girls get less educational opportunities as compared to boys. Girls are not allowed to go to school in some areas. They are not allowed to study,because people think that they are made for household work, so investing in their study is a waste of money.
INSUFFICIENT SANITATION FACILITIES:
Poor sanitation is not good for anyone. In some places girls are not able to get sufficient sanitation facilities.
DEFICIENCY OF LAND AND SAFE SHELTER:
Girls do not get their own land and shelter of their own. This makes them dependent on others,especially on the man.
POOR MEDICAL CARE:
Girls are not able to get proper and perfect medical care during pregnancy and other problems. They do not get hospitals and clinics and medical shops near their house and they can not go far away for treatment. This is not good for their health.
LESS KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTH INFORMATIONS:
Girls have less knowledge of health related things, that is very dangerous for their health. They should get proper medical knowledge about their health.
LACK OF EMPLOYMENT:
Girls could not get jobs and employment. If they get a job then they can not expect the salary equal to the mans. This is a major issue for them.
GENDER BASED VIOLENCE:
The girls have to face many gender based problems. They get problems in doing things because people think that they are girls and they can not do things better than boys.
Child marriage is a big issue for girls. They got married at a very young age. The child marriage affects their lives in many ways such as medical,emotional,meternal problems occurs in their life.
LACK OF OPPORTUNITIES IN SPORTS:
Girls do not get equal opportunities as the men in the sports field. They are asked not to play sports,because they can not perform well in sports and if they get injured they will not get well soon.

Apart from facing all these problems, there are many girls of our nation who made the nation proud by their for and dedication. Here we have names of some Indian daughters who are our nation’s pride.

She is a boxer. She is India’s first female boxer who shined the name of our country on many international platforms.
She is a fighter pilot. She is India’s first women fighter plane pilot. She flew the MiG-21 Bison, an aircraft known to have the highest take-off and landing speed in the world at 340 kph.
She is a gymnast. She won a medal at the Gymnastics World Cup,she is the first Indian gymnast to win this.
Empowering girls is very important. Girls should be empowered for the development of the nation.
Here are some ways to empower girls:
- Mentor girls for their life and future.
- Support them in their problems.
- Provide them a better life and facilities.
- Invest in women’s small business.
- Supports girls’ education.
- Fight for girls rights.
- Fight against child marriage.
- Help new mothers in their child’s feeding and nutrition.
- Ask more people to do all these things for girls.
- Stop violating girls.
- Stand for girls.
